    One day at a time. That's how we achieve our fitness goals, without burning out. Health is wealth, and time is the ultimate expense we never recoup. flux is a methodology that seeks to provide real world solutions in our ‘always on’ modern world to help you establish a sustainable and joyful habit of consistent weekly training for longevity, not just short term goals.

    As a former advertising Producer + Project Manager of 15 years navigating the high stress pace of contemporary life, my practice seeks to create a training regimen that can flex with you between the demands of work, family + social time, and creative pursuits.

  • Flow state

    Exploring an enjoyable fitness practice helps us develop a positive relationship with exercise. Discoveries by behavioral psychologists in a 2002 study of athletes, chess players, and artists defined the flow state as an immersive ‘current’ ushering participants into action. I believe their findings on physical exertion offer benefits of wellbeing across other areas of life.

    Similar studies found cardio and weightlifting increase blood flow to the amygdala + hippocampus in our brain, responsible for changes in motivation + mood. With daily physical training, we enjoy the benefits of the flow state not just when we exercise, but also across everyday activities in our daily lives: improved mental faculties, energy, and relief from depression, anxiety, and entropy.

  • No restriction nutrition

    I offer a more of the right things approach in my nutrition guidance. By consuming more nutrient dense foods, we naturally eat less of those that don’t support us as much. I don’t believe that any foods require total elimination. With awareness of the science behind macros and calories, we can maintain an informed and intuitive balance to make more mindful choices without the need for obsessive calculation.

    Food is not only calories, it is also the sustenance of our social lives. While I specialize in plant based nutrition coaching, I offer consultation for any diets: paleo, keto, pescatarian, etc. I will work with you to create a nutrition strategy that allows room for you to enjoy the foods you love in a mindful balance.

    Goal based training and coaching

    Most clients come to me with frustration over not achieving the results they want despite working out fairly frequently. Often, this is due to trying to achieve too many goals at once without a structured weekly approach. I will work with you to create customized, focused training programming to help you reach your goals in the most efficient use of time each week whether at home with minimal equipment, at your gym, or even without any equipment for some goals.

    Attempts at learning it alone can be a messy process, and the terminology of training can easily make our head spin. The good news is once we understand the basic framework of progressive overload - incremental increases in resistance and intensity - with a lil intention + practice we start to understand how the links in the chain work together to expedite our body goals.
